The South Florida ISSA June 2010 meeting will be held on June 17, 2010 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm at NCCI Holdings, Inc in Boca Raton, FL.
Jorge Orchilles will present an UnderGround Tool Talk on Emerging Threats to Infrastructure and show the new Windows XP 0-day! While Tim Krabec will be debating if security is so simple then why do we fail?
Topic: Emerging Threats to Infrastructure
Attackers are evolving. Anti-Virus, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, and keeping systems up to date is no longer stopping them. As malicious hackers get smarter and target your infrastructure and your employees, are you ready to defend yourself and your company? This talk will be interactive while the audience learns of the latest threats to infrastructure and what can be done to defend against them.
Bonus: Jorge will be demonstrating the latest Windows XP 0-day that is beginning to be seen in the wild.
Jorge Orchilles is a local security researcher with a Fortune 20 financial organization and author of Microsoft Windows 7 Administrator’s Reference. He holds a Master’s of Science in Management Information Systems from Florida International University and serves as VP of Communication and Public Relations for the South Florida ISSA Chapter. Tim Krabec is the owner of a Small Computer Shop. A Vice President of the South Florida Chapter of the ISSA, Secretary of ASIS capter 254. He currently has 4 children with the 5th on the way. He holds a BS in CS for Florida Atlantic University, in what little free time he has he enjoys watching Syfy, woodworking. And working on the Hackid.org conference.
