The South Florida ISSA May 2010 meeting will be held on May 20, 2010 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm at Nova Southeastern University - Carl DeSantis Bldg - Knight Lecture Hall Auditorium 1124.

 

This month we will be focusing on network forensic analysis using full packet capture tools and deep packet analysis. First, Jeff Michael from Netwitness will give a presentation on why network forensics is so important today more than ever followed by the ToolTalk by Albert Caballero from Terremark leaving the slide deck at home and showing you how network forensics are done. Whether your coming from a technical or non-technical background this meeting will be well balanced to cater to your level and ensure you learn something new!

Speaker Bios:

Jeff Michael is a long time security professional with over 10 years in penetration testing, security assessments, and forensics investigations.   Mr. Michael has written numerous security courses and has been a presenter at  a large number of conferences and shows.That classes that he wrote include “Security Open Source”, “Hacking Exposed”, and “Forensic Analysis 101”.  He is considered a
subject matter expert in computer forensics and investigations. These investigations have included HTTP code review, Malware analysis,Virus/Trojan analysis, social engineering, and several other
techniques.  He has worked as a Senior Security Consultant for NetWitness, NetForensics, Verisign, ISS, and other security firms.
Mr. Michael attended Purdue University and holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.  He holds the following certifications; CISSP, CCSI, CCSE+, CCSE, CCSA, NSA, NCSE, NCSA, ICE.

Albert Caballero is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional with expert level training, experience and education in security operations management and implementation engineering of security technologies.  Currently the Security Engineering Manager for Terremark Worldwide, a secure Collocation, Cloud, and Managed Hosting provider, he has spent the past eight years designing and implementing enterprise security solutions that address needs in Security Information and Event Management, Intrusion Detection and Protection, Packet Capture and Netflow Monitoring, Incident Handling, and Security Operations Management.  In addition to a CISSP, Albert possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in MIS Security from Florida Atlantic University and holds the SANS GCIA, GSEC Gold and SSP-MPA certifications, as well as CEH, LPIC, CCNA and others.  Authored and co-authored numerous technical documents and book chapters on Information Security Management, Secure Remote Access, Host-based IPS/IDS and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance which have been published in the ISSA Journal, the Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Journal and the Computer and Information Security Handbook.
